The weather's looking fine again tomorrow – and we have a moderate east-north-easterly forecast, which should suit a downwinder on the flooding tide... Meeting at Thorpe Bay at 8.45am (the green before the yacht club at SS1 3NW, see www.wetndrysup.com/thorpe-bay-southend/) for a 9am launch we'll head west all the way along the promenade, under the pier, past Chalkwell and on to Old Leigh: c. 9km should take c. 90 minutes. Then we'll probably be ordering cabs for the ride back to collect vehicles while someone waits with the boards.
