This northerly airflow might have taken the edge off the air temperature, but it does look like a diminishing offshore breeze this evening should leave flat water at Chalkwell as the tide floods. So we're going to try our first evening this season at the rigging green (www.wetndrysup.com/sup-locations/chalkwell-beach/ – nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ). Given an offshore wind / late flood tide and to allow everyone to rock up and launch whenever they can, we're not going to go anywhere, just keep it pretty tight to the beach for a playaround / gentle technical session inside the windline... Launching at 6.30pm – although as long as no-one strikes out beyond sensible limits off the beach, for a change there's no probem if anyone fancies hitting the water early or late. Everyone with their own kit is very welcome (although the trailer's not yet in operation for hire kit this year). And then after, probably Old Leigh for beers and fodder?
