Acclaimed singer songwriter Mark Atherton, accompanied by Ceri Ashton on fiddle/flute/whistle. Singaround first, session after, all welcome.

Mark's 'evocative, touching and compelling' songs have reached appreciative audiences in a wide variety of venues, from folk clubs to colleges, theaters, parish halls, community centres, church halls, cafe bars and festivals around the UK and overseas.

He's released five well-received albums, been featured in Mojo magazine and interviewed in the music press and on the radio, where album tracks and live sessions have also been aired. Mark was also a Guest Presenter on BBC Radio Lancashire's folk show, Lancashire Drift.

He was a finalist in the North West Songwriters competition as well as in the North West Buskers competition where he was both the only finalist playing solo and the only finalist singing his own material. The Buskers competition even led to him making an early appearance on TV, singing one of his songs on North West News the day before to help promote the event!
