King's Bunker presents CHIMERA
hallucination · illusion · mirage

"The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless."
― Jean-Jacques Rousseau

"What a chimera then is man! What a novelty! What a monster, what a chaos, what a contradiction, what a prodigy!"

"Control is an illusion, destination itself is a pitiful chimera, we are at best mere passengers aboard a drifting vessel."

/// PEDESTRIAN ///
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Pedestrian in name, his music is anything but - starting out in drum & bass, it was whilst living in Cambridge that he first began to explore the possibilities 120bpm had to offer - and it's only fitting that he returns on Friday to showcase his mature sound.

Since then his entrancing productions have met support from heavyweights such as Gilles Peterson - appearing regularly on his Radio 1 show, Pedestrian contributed the track 'Hei Poa' to the tastemaker's Brownswood Bubblers Six compilation - and attracted numerous releases for labels Born Electric and 2nd Drop Recordings.

As a DJ, Pedestrian is equally respected - his dancefloor-oriented sets bringing together everything from melodic beats to the heaviest basslines that hip hop, house and garage have to offer - and with regular collaborations with Maribou State and performances worldwide to a variety of crowds, it's not surprising he's been nominated as Best Breakthrough DJ at DJ Mag this year.

But don't take our word for it - let this killer Boiler Room set give you a taste of what's coming.

/// ALEXANDER NUT ///
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
It's fair to say that by now Alexander Nut is a UK institution. Besides his stellar DJ sets and Saturday sessions on Rinse.fm he heads up Eglo Recs with Floating Points - curating some of the most exciting music of the past five years.

But despite his position, he's not the kind of guy you can pin to any one genre or scene - drawing on rare funk and soul, dub and modern funky - the only thing you can say about his selection is that it's all got vibes.

We're happy to announce that he'll be bringing his those vibes to King's on 5th December for 2 hours of your listening pleasure.

You can catch him on the air every Saturday from 12 - 2PM at Rinse.fm, and for just a few of his countless mixes find him on Soundcloud:

/// BRUCE ///
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
You might be forgiven for not knowing about Bruce - details on the UK producer are sparse. What's more likely is that you've heard his music. Cropping up in countless sets this year, Bruce's twisted, percussive productions stand out instantly in a mix, and it's easy to see why they've been picked up by illustrious labels Hessle Audio and Livity Sound.

His approach to mixing is similarly mind-bending, drawing on everything from classic house and garage to the forefront of UK, bass-heavy dance music. For a taste of what's to come, check out his recent mix for Electronic Explorations - it's a blinder.

/// DIVIDED ///
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Supporting Bruce will be Divided. Since he last played for The King's Bunker, the producer has continued to rise as part of the UK's new wave of techno. After his début solo release earlier this year on Pris' hotly-tipped label Resin, he was recruited for the 199th edition of Hypnonik's acclaimed mix series. His forthcoming EP for Project Thirteen has already met support from Bristol's Hodge and last month he took part in a showcase for the label on the Swamp81 Rinse.fm show, both of which you can hear below:
