Parents are invited, along with students, to see what is on offer. You will have the opportunity to listen to a presentation from our Academy partners SCL (one of the UK’s leading independent providers of education through sport), ask questions, and find out more about our 2-year full-time education programme.
The Academy is designed to develop both the academic and playing talent of students, giving them the skills and qualifications to further their career in the sport, fitness and leisure industry or go on to Higher Education. Career opportunities include:
- Playing professional and semi-professional football
- Football coaching in the UK & abroad
- Sports management
- Leisure management
- Sports development
The Football
All Academy players will receive:
- Daily training involving individual and team coaching from highly qualified FA coaches, including Harlow Town First Team Manager Danny Chapman and ex-Premier League defender and Senegal international Ibrahima Sonko
- Guidance on individual football fitness
- Nutritional advice
- Regular appraisal to monitor their development both on and off the pitch
- Emphasis on progressing Academy players into the Reserve and First Team squad
The Education
Over the 2-year duration, players will study a variety of nationally-recognised qualifications within sport, coaching and fitness including:
- Diploma in Sport at Level 2/3
- FA coaching qualifications
- Core skills in Maths and English (where required)
The Harlow Academy offers players the unique opportunity to train, play and study in a state-of-the-art venue and environment to achieve sporting and academic development. The Harlow Academy will be based at the 3,500 capacity stadium which has a 3G all-weather surface, an excellent range of facilities and a dedicated classroom for academic studies.
