Üritus: Flag Day Ruck/Walk with Team RWB Ann Arbor
Pealeht > Detroit Tough > Flag Day Ruck/Walk with Team RWB Ann Arbor
June 14th was a tradition of sorts dating back to late 1800's to honor The Flag Resuloution of 1777 and later Betsy Ross, it started in NYC made it's way to Philadelphia. President Woodrow Wilson was the first President in 1916 to have June 14th established by proclimation as "Flag Day" but President Harry Truman signed the act of congress in 1949 making it an official, national day.
With the the negative attention of Eric Shepard and his followers have been giving the flag, IE desecrating, stepping on, burning, etc TeamRWB Ann Arbor wanted to counter that with a positive day.
We have seen flags lowered at various embassies and bases around the world due to defeat. We have also seen the flag raised at places like Iwo Jima, Ground Zero after 9/11 and also raised after fierce battles in Falluja.
We want to honor our flag, our history, and our freedom by having a large group participation flag Ruck/ Walk on June 14th with TeamRWB and Detroit Tough members and family. With as many flags flying and carried as possible.
Meet at Detroit Tough at 9:30- get organized and head out at 10 am for a 4 mile walk/ruck.
