Tuesday 25 October, 1-3pm, The Angel Centre, Worcester, WR1 3QN
A refreshing and re-energising contemporary workshop for anyone aged 10-17 who's interested in dance.
It's led by Adam Rutherford, Artistic Director of both Birmingham based Rutherford Dance Company (RDC) and Rutherford Dance Company Youth (RDC Youth).
You don't need to have lots of dance experience. If you haven't done any contemporary technique before, this is a great introduction, and if you've done lots, this will give you fresh ideas and a chance to meet other young dancers.
The session includes contemporary technique, dance phrases and the opportunity to be creative.
It will engage and inspire young dancers. A high energy, fun and informative session!
£10
An international award winning choreographer, Adam has been commissioned to create works both nationally and internationally and continues to forge a path with his feisty and challenging work. His trademark is his demand for crisp and accurate technical precision combined with agile athleticism that stretches his dancers through intricate and sinuous movement puzzles.
Adam trained at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance (Trinity Laban) and has toured in the works of many high profile choreographers including; Henri Oguike, Ben Wright, Luca Silvistrini, Bettina Strickler, Richard Siegal, Matthew Bourne, Tamsin Fitzgerald, Hofesh Schecter, Enrique Cabrera, Wayne Sables and Helen Parlor. He has also been a Rehearsal Director and Assistant Choreographer on various projects/works including 2Faced Dance Company, Rosie Kay Dance Company and Gary Clarke UK.
Most recently Adam has returned to performing and was a part of this year’s DanceXchange International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB16) outdoor spectacular The Machine Show.
